My Story
This is ME! ....Lisa, I thought i'd share a bit about my doggy journey with you. My love for dogs started at a very young age, in fact I don't remember life without dogs, growing up with dogs all round me, my best friend being my Doberman Carl, he was soft as anything, he was amazing, followed me everywhere, even to school and waited outside school until home time, when he passed away I was about 10, i'd grown up with that big softy chops, he taught me so much but suddenly I had lost my best friend and was heartbroken, I learnt at a very young age that dogs really do leave pawprints on your heart and teach us so much.
When my Nana and Grandad got a cocker spaniel pup , this was the start of my spaniel obsession. I adore their comical , cheeky nature but they are equally as loving... We had Cavaliers King Charles and Cocker Spaniels in our family. I loved taking care of them , going for long walks with my mum and the dogs, brushing their long curly ears and generally caring for them.
When I was in my early 20's my Nana took ill and I would help brush her cocker spaniel Goldie, she was in need of a good groom and foot trim, so I bought a pair of trimming scissors for a few pounds and started trimming her feet and ears and realised I quite liked it. I knew I always wanted to work with dogs, when I was made redundant from my job in 2008 I decided what better time to take the plunge.....undergoing intense training with a fabulous teacher.
In 2006 I got my very own dog, Millie, a black and tan Cavalier King Charles spaniel, my soul dog, my best friend, my inspiration for my business as you can probably tell from my logo, Millie set me on the road to learning so much more about dogs and the road to me being a bit of a crazy dog lady. She was my rock and saw me through so much, the day she had to leave for rainbow bridge at a grand old age of 15 (despite many health issues) she most definitely took a piece of my heart with her. I miss her everyday.
2008 saw me set up my grooming salon and after a few years I expanded to selling natural treats and food , being very passionate myself about giving my own dogs only the best, I will not sell anything I will not give to my own.
After many highs and some very personal lows especially the struggles of 2020 I am still here going as strong as I can , celebrating my 16th year in December and working hard so that I have a very successful business, never losing the fact that I love and adore these 4 legged animals. I mean, what's better than working with dogs all day and having my gorgeous pack by my side everyday.
Since starting my business i've extended my knowlege to canine nutrition and animal healing, developing my animal communication skills and also becoming a Reiki Master , which I believe is why lots of dogs love coming to see me, dogs are very receptive to energy and I am a big believer they match ours, all the dogs that come to me get a bit of Reiki during their groom. I love holistic therapies for both human and canine and from lots of experience know too well how effective it is. I also offer grooming training and refreshers for those needing a bit of help.
My passion for dogs will never go away as you can see with my pack of 7! , those who know me well know I can talk dog all day and how much my own dogs mean to me, even my Rainbow babies who I know are with me in spirit still guiding me as they did when they were here.
I am extremely passionate about helping dog owners get the best out of their dogs as naturally as possible through healthy treats, food and supplements, I would never advise or sell anything that my own dogs haven't tried or tested first. I intend to continue learning and grow my business, especially my holistic side allowing me to offer a variety of services. I do get out and about to events through the year so watch out for me. Check out the events section to see where I am next.
Thankyou to all my wonderful , loyal customers over the years and the new ones constantly showing up, I am truely grateful for your continued love and support , here's to the next leg of my journey!
